This Is Your Semesterly Update.

An so, the semester has begun. I'm looking forward to the next few months because frankly, life is so much better than the horrid semester and "not-as-awesome-as-last summer, it-was-just aight" summer that just passed. For one thing, i'm pushing the busyness scale through the roof, as usual, but this time it's not by putting in crazy hours at work. Ever since my move back to the ucf area, ive completely been getting into the swing of things around here. It's great. I go to sleep feeling satisfied and accomplished and i love, LOVE that feeling. =) Plus, rest is always so much sweeter after these long, exhausting, but productive days.

One of the more memorable highlights of the past week or so was the Team Leader retreat i just attended for the Honors college at Cocoa Beach. We had to go through lots of official business, but aside from that we did lots of team building activities and getting to know you type thangs. Seriously, i had an awesome time getting to know all the people i'm working closely with this upcoming semester. It's definitely a great group of enthusiastic, motivated, and intelligent people. The vibe given off was so inviting and chill. In the span of two days, i really felt like i made a great group of friends who i look forward to seeing for the next couple months. AWWWW. I love the team leaders! Muah!

One experience of the trip that i'll remember for a long time was the sight of fluorescent crests of waves far out in the ocean. A couple of us went out to the beach to chill and talk, and we noticed that some of the waves coming into shore rolled in with these vivid neon blues and greens. sooooo awesome! It was later explained to me that the waves agitate the plankton who live near the surface of the water. When agitated, the plankton emit light to either scare off predators or find a mate. Interesting, eh? We all learn something new every day don't we? After watching that phenomenon, i headed off to the pool with a couple other people and watched some raccoons join us for a swim. Raccoons always used to scare me, but it's just too cute seeing them come up to the edge of the pool and wash their face, then spread out on all fours and float on the water. =) ARGH, these are the times when i wish i was more of an avid photographer. Oh well, as i say, it's all up in here *points to forehead* =) Then, the ride back involved me sitting in the back seat of a top down jeep while it was pouring freezing rain. OOh boy, let me tell you how good a nice, hot showah felt after that one. It was tight. Every so often i'd just stick my hands straight up and scream WHOOOOO!!, while the front seat passengers followed. Good times, good times! =)

I also recently helped co-host a friend of mine's bridal shower. Good lawd! Somebody please tell me WHYYYY the old titas are SOOOOO much more into the dirty games than the younger kids? LOL let's just say there ain't no shame! Nothing like asking your titas to draw nametags in the shape of penises and having them "GO DOWN" and stick even more penises (peeni?) on a picture of a nekkid fireman. haha. scary, i know, but hilarious!
